Chelsea seal signing for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata for a fee in the region £58million, according to report from Football.london.
The Blues were formerly link with a move to sign Everton’s goal machine Romelu Lukaku, but Manchester United beat us to his signature, so Chelsea quick move to sign Morata as an alternative.
The Spain international becomes our fourth summer signing after the arrival of Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
It’s expected Morata will arrive at London on Thursday for him to undergo his medical with the view of signing a five-years contract.
A Chelsea statement in the London news outlet read that: ‘Chelsea Football Club and Real Madrid have agreed terms for the transfer of Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge.
‘The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.’
It’s understood that Manchester United were also linked with signing him, but they failed to trigger Real Madrid’s ask price.
Chelsea were also link with some other strikers such as Andrea Belotti, Sergio Aguero and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but it’s Morata who will be wearing the Blues shirt next season.

Morata has always been a brilliant striker so it’s yet to be seen what his performance will look like at the Stamford Bridge.
