It was a game of two different class and approach. It was not a game of stats but one in which each team had more than three points playing for. The rivalry between Chelsea and Jose Mourinho and also between Mourinho and Conte was a burning discussion before the match.
The biggest talking point before the match was the transfer saga that involved the present strikers of both sides as they were expected to be in the opposite team now. Alvaro Morata was being rumored to be heading towards United but the deal did not go through and United opted for Lukaku, a player who was Chelsea’s number one target for the transfer window.
So, it was a game for both to show who really made a better decision to join their current team.
It was as predicted to be a closely and keenly contested game between both sides. It had Chelsea pressing more and closer to getting the first goal all through the game.
It was interesting to see Morata threatening the United defense line while his counterpart, Lukaku could not get into the box of Chelsea. Antonio Conte got his tactics right on the evening and match every bit of United approach to win the game.
The game seems ready to be another entertaining game without a goal before Morata rose above everyone to net home from a Cesar Azpilicuetta cross. It was the moment Morata and Conte have been waiting for and it was the moment which made the difference between both sides.
The debate between who the better buy is will probably still come up as a bigger debate at the end of the season when either will have helped his team achieve success or not but for now, Morata owns the bragging right. The Spaniard will only hope to keep improving and help Chelsea win trophies during his stay at the Bridge.
