The Champions League round of 16 draw has been held and all teams now know their opponent. It set the tone for what to expect on the next round of the competition. There are some ties that will make the fans stay glue to the TV set and some that will be as fiercely competitive as ever.

The biggest of the draw has to be Real Madrid against Paris Saint Germain. The reigning champion against a team with the most expensive star in the world.

If Real Madrid-PSG is going to be cracking, Barcelona Chelsea is going to bring nostalgic memories. Both sides have faced each other several times in the tournament to know each other’s tactical approach.

Two of the best moments were Iniesta’s heart-breaking goal in the semifinal in 2009 and also Chelsea’s 2-2 draw at Camp Nou to get to the final at Barcelona’s expense. It is another cracking of a fixture to watch out for.

Juventus- Tottenham will be another tie that will go down to the last moment as both sides are technically sound and managed by managers that play free flowing attacking football. Juventus have the edge going into this round as their experience in such stages will count for something.

Manchester City and Basel is expected to be a one-way tie as Pep Guadiola is expected to have an easy ride over the Swiss champion. Manchester United will face former Europa league winner, Sevilla.

United are expected to edge this over two legs. Liverpool is the fifth English team that qualified for the knock out stage, a feat that has not been achieved by any other league in the past. The Reds face Porto and are expected to go through after two legs.

The other draws are Bayern Munich against Besiktas and Shakhtar Donesk against AS Roma.
