French goal keeper wants Arsenal move

Written by Stephen Wennberg

There is a young goalkeeper that is taking French League 1 by surprise and it’s Toulouse’s Alban Lafont. At age 19, he’s one of the most sort after goalkeepers in the world. He has admitted that he would love to join Arsenal one day. He has been compared to Italian prospect Gianluigi Donnarumma.

His potential has lead clubs to have him on their radar and there could be a really big battle for his signature come summer. Arsenal might however have the edge in the race as he is an Arsenal fan and has recently spoken about his love for the North London club.

“I’ve liked them since I was young – I’d watch the matches of Robin van Persie,” he explained to SFR Sport via 101greatgoal.

This is like a big boast for Arsenal in the pursuit of the young goalkeeper. Arsenal are currently in search of a long-term replacement for Petr Cech and David Ospina have not proven to be the man to take over from him. Lafont could also be a player that will serve the club for the next decade or more if Arsenal decides to go for him.

Lafont has hinted that he could leave Toulouse this summer but he’s currcently focused on helping them avoid relegation and after that he will know the next line of action for his career.

If Arsenal can make this happen this summer, it will be one of the late signings of the French manager’s career that will outlive him and will make his name forever be remembered when Lafont goes on to do well.
