Cristiano Ronaldo has reached another milestone in his career after netting his 30th La Liga goal. The Real Madrid star became the fastest player to reach such feat.

This happened when he scored the first goal in Saturday’s La Liga win against Getafe. The goal came before half time in the match and many knew the achievement the Portuguese has reached.

The 33-year-old Portuguese star became the fastest to score 30th goals but just the second player to ever score 300 La Liga goals after Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. It took Ronaldo 286 games to reach the landmark while it took Messi 334 games, a massive 48 games difference.

Messi scored his 300th La Liga goal last February against Sporting Gijon. The duo holds possibly all records in world football and are only breaking each other’s record at this point in time.

Ronaldo added another goal on the day to make it 301 goals as he helped his Real Madrid side to a 3-1 win over Getafe. There are discrepancies as regards a particular goal which Real Madrid claim had made Ronaldo reach 300 goals last week.

This goal was scored in 2010 after his free kick was deflected home by Pepe against Real SocieSociedad. This has always generated rancour but the officials credit the goal for Pepe but Madrid do count it as Ronaldo’s goal. Whichever way Ronaldo has reached another milestone after this match.

Despite a very poor start to the season, Ronaldo has picked up himself to hit the ground with his goals. With just two goals in the early part of the season, he has now increased the pace of his goals which has took his league tally to 16 in 21 games now, all thanks to his recent form. His season tally now at 30 goals in 32 club outing.

Ronaldo holds the record of Real Madrid all time highest goal scorer with 436 goals from 426 appearances for the Los Blancos. It might be difficult for Ronaldo to match Messi’s current 372 La Liga goals from 408 games as both are still currently playing and Messi is still younger and might probably play longer in the league.

The next highest goals scorer in La Liga after Messi and Ronaldo is Talmo Zaha with 251 goals in 277 games.
