Manchester City are not willing to rest on their premier league triumph as they’re already highlighting areas to improve on. The Citizens have identified a player they could be going for this summer who will help add to their building for the next generation. They however will be facing competition with Celtic who are keen on signing the player.

Lovro Majer has been a long time target for Brenden Rodgers’ Celtic but it seems they will have to face stiff competition from premier league giant, Manchester City. Majer is said to cost around £8m which will not be a big deal for Manchester City to afford. The Sun is reporting that Pep Guadiola is keen on signing in the 20 year old midfielder. With 11 goals in 29 starts for his club, NK Lokomotiva, he’d their highest goalscorer this season, he’s definitely going to have a blistering career ahead of him if well nurtured.

Now that it’s a straight battle between the Hoops and the Citizens, City will most likely edge in the money play but Celtic also have a way out. With the level of competition at City right now, he’s likely going to be loaded out which Celtic could take advantage of and go for him then from Manchester City. Celtic and City have a good loan history with Patrick Roberts being one of those good deals between both sides.

Majer is seen as a long term replacement for Yaya Toure and this is another reason City could be keen in getting him.
